With the increase in COVID-19 across the globe, it’s important to know it affects everybody, every business, and every product in a different way. Our products are used in high touch environments and we’ve received a handful of questions about how to clean and disinfect our zip line products.
It is important to note that many cleaners and disinfectants are not suitable to be used with Head Rush products. If trolleys, carabiners, and zip lanyards are in need of cleaning, customers should use warm water and a mild detergent such as a dish soap to clean the gear. Allow to air dry in a cool, ventilated area after cleaning.
Certain disinfectants such as bleach, hydrogen peroxide, or Lysol can chemically attack Head Rush products and must not be used! Head Rush has researched compatible disinfection agents and recommends a 70% Isopropyl Alcohol spray or wipe. DO NOT DILUTE. A 70% Isopropyl Alcohol can be sprayed or wiped on Head Rush carabiners, trolleys, and LightSpeed zip line lanyards. We recommend spraying or wiping down the hardware. For the lanyards, we recommend spraying the 70% Isopropyl Alcohol on a rag and wiping clean. This will help to keep the textile from becoming soaked. Do not soak the lanyard. Do not spray Alcohol near heat sources or open flames as alcohol is flammable. Allow all gear to air dry after disinfecting. Use only Isopropyl Alcohol on Head Rush products as other types of alcohol can damage the textiles and polymers used in Head Rush zip line gear.
If you have any additional questions, please refer to the CDC. Small actions can make a big difference when everyone helps out — thanks for doing your part.
